Baby Dior Autumn/Winter 2012

I have always been a fan of Dior Classic (see the amazing Russian shoot here) and this delightful campaign for Baby Dior hits exactly the right note to take us down memory lane to Vintage Dior. I am also touched to see they used the same area near the Seine as a lot of the classic Dior shots (see below). And the shot of their headquarters on Avenue Montaigne brings back memories of meeting a friend who worked there when I lived in Paris. Sigh… And the collection itself: takes flight from the founder’s own childhood in Paris, with couture detailing, prints and icons beloved by the house itself. For Autumn/Winter 2012, Baby Dior Girls sees a play on volume and silhouette, made possible by careful pleating and masterful cutting for which this house is renowned, and houndstooth, which I quite like on little girls. For the boys, comfort yarns and luxurious jacquard feature extensively, as well as leather. I am only including the black/white photos because it’s such a great mood but you can see the color ones on the Dior website and also shop this collection.
