DIY Stacking House Blocks

So here is a really effective and fairly simple craft for a weekend! I’m a huge sucker for wooden toys and anything made of wood actually, so DIY Stacking House Blocks would be just the ticket if my girls were younger. I’m kind of sad that the really simple toys of a few years ago have been replaced with more complex things. However, I’m still tempted to make these.

I found this on Mer Mag, and Merrilee guides us to even saw these up into the blocks and make the A frame roofs. All you need is a stick of wood 4×4, sandpaper, paint and a bit of beeswax if you like. Yes, and the saw! The great thing is these blocks are much larger than most blocks, making them much more original. And you have carte blanche as far as painting them. Get all the instructions right here.

BTW, apart from making fabulous crafts from anything and everything, Merrilee is also an illustrator. Take a look at her work here.

Liboosha – Crazy Beautiful Bohemian Baby Wear

liboosha_2

Liboosha – This crazy Beautiful Bohemian baby wear label is knocking my socks off! The playsuits especially are so adorable. I always loved playsuits for babies. They are for me the quintessential, classic baby item, actually. And this amazing twist and rebirth of the baby suit is exciting.

Inspired by her daughter, Happy, and Bohemian bloodlines, the designer of this exceptional, handmade label set out to create a line of baby girl clothing that was eclectic and extraordinary. And she succeeded in a big way.

rockaRoo by 4 Moms

Another fantastic product from the very progressive and modern company, 4 Moms. The new rockaRoo! I only wish that this were around for my two little babies. In fact, I’m kind of envious. The rockaRoo mimics the movements that happen when babies are in the arms of their Mama (or Papa). The movement in the rockaRoo increases baby’s sensation of motion, which translates to more effective soothing.

Attention was paid to every detail in design – from noise reduction to seat fabric. The seat’s base is sculpted with sophisticated surfaces and tension lines inspired by automotive, athletic and electronic industries. And it’s so easy to use. Love that.

And they have made the lullaby a fine science. They surveyed thousands of parents to come up with the ultimate lullaby playlist (see below). Available here!
