The Dolce & Gabbana Spring and Summer 2014 childrenswear collection compaign, just like the womenswear and menswear ad campaigns was personally shot by Domenico Dolce – who made his debut as photographer in 2012, with Campioni, a book of portraits of Italian football stars. Models Balti and Tony Ward (above) are actually parents and they were probably feeling right at home amongst this brood of wonderfully dressed kids. This kidswear campaign is even more of a family affair than previous campaigns, where the coziness of the parents’ bedroom becomes the center of a joyous family portrait.
The offerings from this Dolce & Gabbana SS 2014 collection are cute and luxurious. It pays homage to Italy, and to Dolce’s Sicilian roots and traditions with minute attention to style and details, with numerous elements mirroring the adult collections. And I think I have found the “Perfect White Summer Dress” for girls (below). Other features are ancient Greek columned buildings, Chinese blossom flowers, glittering gold dresses with coin detail belts, and gorgeous green tropical leaf prints, as well as the traditional black lace pieces synonymous with the designer label.
And the boys collection boasts a nice palette of all sorts of blues, grays, whites and a nice splash of red here and there and even ancient Greek printed T-shirts and tanks tops to go with the girls’ range. These subtle photographic prints below are real winners.
All in all, a strong continuation of their fairly new kidswear label!
